NUTRITION SITE MANAGER
General Statement of Duties
The employee in this class is responsible for administering the congregate and in-home delivered meal programs in one of the seven sites throughout the County.
Distinguishing Features of the Class
The employee in this class implements program policies and procedures to ensure required program goals are attained and reported in a timely and efficient manner. Employee oversees the meal distribution for in-home and congregate clients while maintaining the cleanliness and operational efficiency of the equipment and supplies. The employee actively promotes the program and its objectives to potential clients and the interested general public. Position is also responsible for all record keeping and reporting requirements associated with the program. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Nutrition Program Supervisor and work is reviewed through an evaluation of services provided and program efficiency and effectiveness.
Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Tasks
Implements services provided by the congregate and home-delivered meal programs in accordance with policies and procedures governing the program.
Observes services provided by the vendor providing the meals, discusses and resolves any shortcomings with the supervisor.
Receives meals from the vendor; ensures all program guidelines are met regarding proper food temperatures; prepares the food for congregate meals; prepares the food for in-home delivery; and delivers meals.
Assures the cleanliness of facilities, equipment and utensils; ensures the operational efficiency of all equipment; cleans facility at the end of each meal.
Trains volunteers and part-time workers, resolves any issues regarding the performance of volunteers, and provides or arranges necessary training,
Maintains adequate records documenting service activities and prepares reports.
Ensure that meals are provided on time, are nutritious, and of high quality.
Maintains supplies and equipment for centers; and maintains an inventory of supplies and equipment

Recruitment and Selection Guidelines
Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities
Working knowledge of sanitary standards as they apply to food service and the serving of meals.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, families, volunteers, coworkers, supervisor and the general public.
Ability to oversee and train part-time workers and volunteers involved in the provision of nutritional services.
Ability to relate to and understand the needs of elderly and disabled clients.
Ability to maintain accurate records.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motion.
Must be able to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to move objects.
Must possess the visual acuity to prepare data and reports, to read extensively and to operate a computer terminal.
Desirable Education and Experience
Graduation from high school and progressive experience in food service industry.
Special Requirements
Possession of a valid North Carolina driver's license.
